Privacy Policy

What JobCam collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights.

Last updated

This policy explains how JobCam ("JobCam", "we", "us") handles personal information when you use the JobCam mobile apps (iPhone and Android), the web dashboard at app.jobcamapp.com, and the website jobcamapp.com (together, the "Service"). JobCam is used by contracting companies ("companies") and the people they invite ("members").

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your name, email address and password credentials, the company you belong to and your role (Admin or Crew).

Company information. Company name, settings (such as the photo match radius and whether caption suggestions are enabled), team membership and invite codes, and billing status.

Photos and job data. Photos you take or upload, including the GPS position and time recorded with each photo, the street address JobCam derives from that position, captions (up to 500 characters), categories, job names, addresses, job notes and status.

Device and technical information. Operating system version, app version, device model, approximate location while the app is in use (used to file photos), upload and error logs, IP address, browser type and the pages of the dashboard you open.

Integration data. When an admin connects a Facebook Page or Instagram Business account, we receive the Page or account identity, an access token, and the results of posts we publish on your behalf. See section 4.

Payment information. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor, not by JobCam. We keep billing status, plan, seat count and invoice history.

Support correspondence. Emails you send to hello@jobcamapp.com or privacy@jobcamapp.com.

2. How we use it

  • To run the Service: file photos to jobs by address, sync jobs and photos across your company, produce PDF reports and share links, and publish posts you compose.
  • To manage teams, invites, roles and billing.
  • To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and diagnose problems.
  • To respond to support and data requests.
  • To send service emails such as invite codes, billing notices and security alerts. We do not send marketing email without consent.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use your photos for advertising.

3. Location

Location is used only to match a photo to a job. The app requests location while in use; it does not track you in the background. Photos that cannot be matched wait in Unfiled until a member files them. Location permission can be withdrawn at any time in your device settings; photos will then land in Unfiled.

4. Third parties

We share data only with providers that help us run the Service:

ProviderPurpose
Google Cloud / FirebaseHosting, authentication, database and photo storage.
StripeSubscription billing and card processing.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram)Only when an admin connects a Page or account, to publish the posts you compose. Meta's own terms apply to content you publish there.
Geocoding providerTurning a GPS position into a street address and back.
Email delivery providerSending invite codes and service email.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of JobCam or others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, with notice to you.

5. Sharing within your company

Members of a company see the company's jobs and photos. Admins additionally see the team list, billing and integrations. Share links you create are public to anyone who has the link until they expire.

6. Retention

  • Photos and job data are kept for as long as the company account exists. Photos remain with the company when an individual member deletes their account.
  • Account data is deleted when you delete your account, except where we must keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
  • Meta integration data is deleted when you disconnect the integration.
  • Billing records are retained as required by tax and accounting law.
  • Backups expire on a rolling schedule after deletion.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. You can delete your account in the app or dashboard, disconnect integrations under Integrations, or email privacy@jobcamapp.com. See Data deletion for step-by-step instructions.

8. Children

The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting provider. Access within JobCam is limited to staff who need it to operate the Service. No system is perfectly secure; keep your password private and use a device passcode.

10. International transfers

JobCam is operated from the United States and data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure there. If you use the Service from elsewhere, your data is transferred to the United States.

11. Changes

We will post changes to this policy here and update the date above. Material changes will be announced in the dashboard or by email.
